ACADEMICS

With an average class size of 16 students, every child is known, every voice is heard and individual growth gets noticed. Students strengthen their skills and find their voice through challenging English and writing courses, hands-on science and classes in language and math that meet them where they are. Fine arts, technology and PE give students opportunities to develop new interests and strengths while continuing to build the confidence and habits they need to thrive in and beyond the classroom.

ARTS

The Middle School Arts program empowers students to start creating.

Middle School students’ art gets showcased in galleries throughout our campus. Band, orchestra and chorus students perform several concerts a year for their peers and the Walker community. Drama students perform in both large-scale musicals in our auditorium and intimately staged plays in our studio theater.

At this level, the focus is on building strong fundamentals, learning through practice and competition, and developing the discipline and confidence that come with being part of a team. It’s a time for students to discover what they enjoy, challenge themselves and build the skills that will prepare them for the next level.
