July 8-12 - Crazy for Cards, 1 p.m. - 4 p.m. (Grades 6-8) |
Crazy for Cards is a week-long, half-day camp during which the kids will learn how to play several classic card games - Hearts, Rummy, Poker, etc. - as well as some that they may have never heard of before. No experience necessary! Of course, we'll learn the rules and such for each game, but we'll also talk about how and why these games work the way they do. By the end of the week, campers will know enough about these games to share them with their friends and family AND to be able to beat them, too (at least at first)! The goal is for the kids to gain a new level of understanding and appreciation for the games they already know, and to generate new excitement for the games they're playing for the first time!
