EVERY CHILD IS KNOWN

Students at every level have two full-time teachers in the classroom and the support of a full-time counselor dedicated to the Primary School. Our student support team and teacher expertise, as well as our small size, allow us to differentiate instruction to focus on individual students and a range of learning profiles.

Even though the Primary School is in a separate building from Walker’s other divisions, our students are part of the larger Walker community. Students are paired with Reading Buddies in the Lower School, and Senior Buddies help cultivate relationships with older peers.

WHY WE ARE UNIQUE

The Primary School is full of exciting “firsts.” In addition to the core academic areas of reading, writing, math and social studies, students are exposed to a wide variety of co-curriculars, including Spanish, art, science, music and movement, library, guidance, and technology.

We place a heavy emphasis on independence, curiosity, collaboration, and creative and critical thinking skills while also focusing on what makes each individual student unique.
